unravelled intentions survive not so with all the casualties that smug look there within your eyes will burn away eventually but not before we are all put down by methods now beyond control the panic that you see around is sure to fragment every soul i was so damn convinced i could never be wrong relevance is a poison – its dependence is strong i set myself up like i was one of the few who had access to something capable to undo those notions of sorrow that oft overwhelm commiseration aside; acquiescence dispelled bloody ignorant fools i was numbered among slightly overfamiliar with the songs that were sung i longed for the sense that i might belong to be here after this when the others were gone i was fully persuaded, murdered reason for faith forced blindness, faked hearing, mitigating The Wait but i failed to consider the collateral harm confidently ignoring each fraudulent form that emerged every time The Tsar channelled The Voice unceremoniously removing all choice if there was nothing more i should like to have known before setting plans in motion we cannot restore this world-assured destruction you treat me as if i’m not there but don’t assume that i don’t care you’re so damn convinced you could never be wrong relevance is a poison – its dependence is strong you set yourself up like you’re one of the few who has access to something capable to undo those notions of sorrow that oft overwhelm commiseration aside; acquiescence dispelled bloody ignorant fools you are numbered among slightly overfamiliar with the songs that are sung you long for the sense that you might belong to be here after this when the others were gone you’re fully persuaded, murder reason for faith force blindness, fake hearing, mitigating The Wait but you fail to consider the collateral harm confidently ignoring each fraudulent form that emerged every time The Tsar channels The Voice unceremoniously removing all choice none of us can revive the fallout of mortality ashes falling from on high corroborate absurdity we’ll wish our end would be to drown when darkness swallows every home The Moon that ever lit the sky no longer seen amidst the gloam

i’ll be over here in the event that you need me not undaunted by the scathing way that you so easily leave unnoticed all my grounded, smart-sounding inquiry …you plainly know what’s best well – it must be a relief that i’m no longer around out of sight, out of mind, driven east out of town and The Earth’s about to become a cursed burial mound cause you thought of us as “less” the consequence of listening is far too much for you to take in heaven forfend that you’re mistaken you force belief like you practice consent but there’s no more than this now all our hope you have spent with no one left to question what decisions are made every plan smolders on the floor and now The Sun’s light – it is starting to fade our fate you’ve bound to yours i regret all the hours that i wasted with you every moment is lost to time but soon it won’t matter, cause we won’t exist que sera, sera – it’s fine‽

before the great undoing of Earth by a militant branch of Hereafterists, there was one among their number who staged a rebellion from within. once a syndicate commander, this insurrectionist leader was branded as "The Invalid" because of their mutinity. when it became clear that the self-identified "Intrepid Lunatic Faction" could not be reasoned with + that The Tsar was dis-crediting + exiling any and all who openly questioned the plan to fast-track "The Wait" via a neo-nuclear barrage of The Moon, dissenters revolted. a number of missile sites were successfully destroyed during the uprising, but Lunacy had become too widespread to contain. what's more, all efforts made by The Invalid to warn the rest of humanity about the imminent world-end were ignored because of their previous identification as a Hereafterist. the six fateful words spoken by The Voice confirmed The Invalid's stand against the I-L-F; however, it was too late + all life on the third planet was needlessly extinguished, again.

the most imposing + harrowing spoiler that humanity across generations has attempted to keep veiled as it pertains to the spectacle of life on earth is its inevitable end + the relative inconsequentiality of it all. accordingly, this transience of being – that’s existentially defined by relentless toil, suffering + impermanence – thoroughly complicates any notion of inherent value (especially when one is willing to concede that there is observably nothing more than this). as a consequence, unlike wild animals observed in nature who primarily appear to be concerned with matters of survival, people are constantly engaged in the production of meaning (as an attempt to counteract acute + accurate impressions of emptiness + futility). this construction of significance is central to one’s self-conscious encounter of living, whereby meaningfulness arguably determines whether or not a person’s day-to-day experiences are seen + understood to be worthwhile. however, given that everyone is personally involved in the practice of value-assignment – and considering no two people will agree on every aspect of what they consider to be important or real – a dynamic multiplicity of views is inevitable (hence the myriad of pastimes, traditions, cultures + mythologies that have existed + that continue to be created). and herein lies the issue with semiosis: when particular individuals or groups are apprehensive about such diversity, the uninspired/uninspiring tendency is to insist on certain limited + sanctioned ways to think, speak + act. the consequence has been an establishment of exclusionary systems of power + control that are maintained by a dual conviction of one’s own worth as opposed to another’s inferiority or irrelevance. this is profoundly absurd. it’s also unpardonably appalling when the self-interested + often superstitious decisions of a few are potentially ruinous to the lives of many. people already viscerally know that they’re insignificant; for it to be insensitively + arbitrarily communicated that they’re doubly-so is uncompassionately senseless. this devaluation occurs on many levels – at times deliberately, other times unintentionally – but the effect is the same regardless of one’s motivation. consequently, if it’s conveyed that anyone is less significant than another for whatever reason – either passively via ignorance or indifference, or actively via harassment or harm – it begs the question regarding why people behaving neglectfully or abusively mistakenly presume to possess any more importance than those who they serially overlook + mistreat. and at the root of it all is a desperate, fear-based, reactionary drive to flee insignificance itself; a misplaced belief that they’re greater than they actually are; a fabled fixation that one can only realize one’s potential not on this earth. yet - maybe that’s the problem. perhaps if people weren’t so quick + deluded to think that they’re any different or better than the countless soon-to-be-forgotten residents of earth, the drive to assert significance over against pretend “others” could be curbed – resulting in markedly more altruism than egotism. could it be that it’s not about being unique, but more a matter of seeking to be indistinguishable from everyone else? what if life is best lived when humans simply endeavour to become worthwhile people to have around for the limited time that they’re here? perchance not caring so much about the temperamental machine of allocating significance + not being remembered beyond one’s years is a good thing. as with every example one could contemplate from the natural world, can the average person differentiate one bird from the rest of its kin with much accuracy? does this mean they lack value? and do these creatures consider what they’re doing with their time to be a waste? correspondingly, one might ask about the costs + benefits of self-awareness; namely, whether humanity is worse or better off in its search for purpose, or if permanently bracketing out meaning-of-life questions would be a more useful practice for all to enter into. instead, what if people were more like sparrows: unassumingly true to their form; contentedly concerning themselves with the momentary; not constantly trying to read meaning into the mundane; not waiting around for some voice to speak in order to experience fulfilment; and not judging others based on subjective, make-believe standards of what’s “right” or “valuable.” all this to say – albeit ironically – it could be that it’s in essence more significant to embrace insignificance than to restlessly try + fail to grasp what can only be described as mysterious. because up until now, all attempts to idiotically insist on there being one single understanding of the world have been shown to be far more brutal than anything ever observed in the animal realm.
